23 Helpful Ways To Focus On Your Growth In 2023
How to focus on you and your personal growth:
1: Start a daily journal.
Daily journaling is a great way to figure out what you really want. And sort through all of your thoughts and dreams.
So if you don’t already have a journal then grab one and start incorporating daily journaling into one of your routines. I recommend adding it to your night routine!
2: Make a vision board.
This is another great way to think about what you want but on a bigger picture scale compared to a journal.
After you make the vision board it can be very helpful to hang it up somewhere you will see all the time like in your bathroom or closet.
3: Make a health improvement plan.
You are the only one who can focus on improving your health! So start focusing on you including your health by making a health improvement plan!
4: Start listening to more podcasts.
Podcasts are a fantastic way to focus on self improvement. Plus it is something you can do to work on yourself while doing other things like commuting to work/school or doing laundry.
5: Read a few chapters from a nonfiction book daily.
Find some books that are geared towards what you are wanting to work on while focusing on yourself. That could be your career, health, personal growth, family, money, etc! And then read a few chapters from one of those books before going to bed.
6: Take a free online course.
The internet can be your own endless supply of growth and knowledge.
There are so many free online courses about basically anything you are interested in learning! So focus on yourself and what you want and start one of those courses!
7: Remove bad influences/toxic relationships from your life.
This is a huge topic and we are just barely going to touch on it but seriously focusing on keeping toxic people out of your life is one of the most important ways that you can focus on yourself.
I am going to have an entire post (potentially series) on this so make sure to subscribe below so you can see when that comes out!
8: Create routines that help create the life you want.
Focusing on yourself is so much easier when you take the time to create routines that focus on you and bettering your life.
9: Limit the time you think about/talk about others.
I know this can be hard but by giving others too much of your time and thoughts is the opposite of prioritizing yourself.
So spend less time on social media and less time when you’re with family/friends talking about others. It doesn’t benefit anyone involved!
10: Learn to wake up earlier.
Making time in the morning for just you time is an amazing way to focus on yourself.
So here are my top 5 tips for learning to wake up earlier!
11: Go for a walk every day.
Not only is this great and simple exercise but more importantly it gives you a great chance to think about your life. Getting outside and getting away from distractions is a great way to think about how you can keep improving yourself and your life without pressure from others.
12: Work on learning to prioritize better.
Prioritizing is an underrated way to focus on yourself.
Prioritizing what you want and learning to prioritize what you can help you build a better life!
13: Start a habit journal.
Tracking your habits while you are trying to make them stick is an essential thing for forming new and positive habits.
So get a habit journal or just use a journal/notebook for tracking the new habits you are starting to form.
14: Start saying 5 positive affirmations every morning.
Focusing on yourself also includes focusing on loving yourself!
So start each morning by saying 5 positive affirmations about yourself to improve your mindset.
15: Work on getting better sleep.
Being more energized and feeling well rested is actually an incredible way to focus on yourself.
Sleep is something that we all so often sacrifice for others but feeling well rested is an amazing way to get more done and create the life you want.
16: Work on improving your work life balance.
This is another big topic but it is so important for learning to focus on yourself.
When you don’t maintain a positive work life balance and spend too much time at work you really don’t give yourself the opportunity to focus on yourself and your dreams.
17: Pickup an old hobby or find a new one.
When you think about something that makes you happy to do is there a hobby that comes to mind?
If so then make the time for it and focus on your own happiness! (I do have some tips here on making time for the things you love).
18: Do a social media audit.
Go through your social media and unfollow anyone who doesn’t bring you joy, is really negative, or stresses you out. Remember that social media can be really bad for your mental wellness so creating a positive feed is a great way to protect your mental wellness.
19: Put effort into breaking bad habits.
It can be difficult to find the time and commit the effort to breaking bad habits. But breaking bad habits is one of the most essential things you can do to better your life.
I have some tips for breaking a bad habit here.
20: Learn to better your time management.
Time management is one of the best ways to ensure you have time for yourself. So that you can make yourself a priority!
If you are more efficient with how you spend your time and making sure you avoid time wasting mistakes then you can have time to improve yourself.
21: Stop questioning your decisions.
The final of the ways I have for focusing on yourself in 2023 is to stop questioning your decisions,
By becoming more self assured you not only spend less time wondering about your decisions but it also helps you focus on what you really want because your first reaction is usually what you really want.
22: Start setting more goals.
Make sure to include daily, monthly, annual, and 5 year goals. Goal setting is a fantastic habit that doesn’t take long but can really have a positive impact on your life, especially on your mindset.
23: Write regular letters to yourself.
Writing letters to your past and future self is an amazing technique for practicing and experiencing self awareness.
You can either write letters to yourself at different points in the past to reflect on your past self. Or you can write letters to your future self so you can really be truthful with yourself about what you want in the future. And where you are now which is mainly where the self awareness comes into play!
