19 Tips For Happiness To Create Your Most Fulfilled Life
Ideas and tips for happiness that you will be thankful you learned!
Tip 1: Start doing positive affirmations every morning.
The first of these tips for happiness is doing affirmations. Daily positive affirmations are an incredible tool for helping you have a more positive and happy mindset daily.
Starting your day by hyping yourself up and taking a bit to be positive is amazing for living a happier life.
A few of my favorite morning affirmations are:
- I am capable of anything.
- The lessons I have learned have prepared me for today.
- I am creating the future I have dreamed of.
- My life is going exactly how I want it to.
- I believe there is so much good in the world.
Tip 2: Stop concerning yourself with others drama.
If you want to start feeling happier each day then it is time for you to learn this idea and stop thinking and talking about everyone else’s drama. If you find yourself in a social situation where everyone else is gossiping try to steer the conversation into something more positive. Eventually doing this and working on this will start to feel more natural and can have a positive impact on the people around you.
Also, another way to avoid drama is to be conscious about the media you consume. Specifically the social media! If you follow a lot of people that share drama and cause drama then try unfollowing them or at least muting them so you don’t see their negative content on your social media feeds.
Tip 3: Get fresh air daily.
This may seem a bit strange to be on this list but getting outside and getting fresh air has been proven over and over to help your mental wellness.
And having done this regularly and made getting outside a priority I can say I have also personally felt these benefits as well. So take the dog for a longer walk, drink your morning coffee outside, park a little further from work, etc!
Tip 4: Practice daily gratitude.
If you are lacking that mentality of thankfulness and gratitude then you need to start learning how to! When you are thankful for the things in your life and regularly taking the time to think about your blessings you will feel yourself start to feel happier with your life.
One of the best ways to do this is to start doing daily gratitude journaling. This doesn’t have to be a huge time commitment. Just grab a gratitude journal (here’s one that is less than $10) and add it into your night time routine. It should only take about 10 minutes but it can really help you feel more grateful and happier.
Tip 5: Set goals more frequently.
Setting goals actually is a wonderful way for you not only to stay on track with life but also to help boost happiness.
When you are focusing on you. And what you want. And what you want your life to become then you will probably feel happier.
This is definitely an underrated one of the tips for happiness but I do truly swear by it!
Tip 6: Make a hype you up happiness playlist.
Music is an incredible tool for helping your mood. And making specific playlists can really feed into this tool.
I generally recommend making playlists for lots of different moods and scenarios and for days when you need a happiness boost is no exception.
So sit down for 30 minus and make a hype you up/happiness playlist that you can listen to in the future when you need a happiness boost.
Tip 7: Smile more!
This follows an actually helpful idea of “fake it till you make it”.
Smiling, even if you are forcing it, helps to bring you joy and help brighten your mood. Think about things that naturally make you smile and focus on that for 10-15 minutes. Even if you REALLY don’t feel like smiling it’s worth trying to make yourself smile for a bit to help your mood.
*bonus tip- I find that putting a little effort into my smile makes me want to smile more! Get some whitening strips or a lip stick you have been wanting to incentivize yourself to smile more.
Tip 8: Do small things regularly that bring you joy.
Does adding your favorite creamer to your coffee make you happy? Then do it! Does listening to your upbeat playlist make you happy? Then do it!
Sit down for 20 minutes and brainstorm things that make you happy. Things that are simple but bring you joy and that you maybe don’t already do every day.
When you start making an effort to incorporate small things into your day that make you happier you will start to genuinely feel happier.
Tip 9: Get the correct levels of sleep.
Sleep is so important for every aspect of your health.
Mental health is no exception to this!
Getting the correct range of sleep time is incredibly important for generally improving your mental health and stability which will gradually improve your mood. But an important part of this to note is that there is a correct range. For those under 40 and over 10 it is actually recommended to get between 6-7 hours of sleep a night and for those over 40 and under 10 you should aim for 8-9 hours.
Over sleeping can harm your mental health just as much as not sleeping enough can! This is so helpful and one of the most important ways to boost your mood.

Tip 10: Get moving every day.
Next up is such a helpful tip for living a happier life! Getting physical movement releases endorphins that seriously improves your mood.
Daily activity even if it is just 20 minutes will help to release those endorphins. So take a walk, do a like home work out, or go ahead and commit to an awesome gym session. This is definitely a helpful one of the tips for happiness that also has lots of other benefits!
Tip 11: Start making time for your hobbies and interests!
When you commit time in your life to your hobbies, interests, and passions you will feel like you are in control of your life. Which can lead to an increased level of happiness in your life.
And of course spending time on the things you love should mean that you are happy while you are doing those things. Which means more happiness throughout the course of your day. If you aren’t making time for the things you love then there is a good chance you have serious room for improvement on the happiness scale!
I know that you probably have a very busy life and struggle to make time for your hobbies so I have an entire post on how to do this here: How To Make More Time For The Things You Love.
Tip 12: Practice regular self care.
Self care as basic as it sounds is one of the best ways to bring you happiness.
So take some time to pamper yourself a little bit.
Get your nails done, do a spa night, put on some comfy pj’s and watch your favorite movie. Anything that makes YOU happy. Do not worry about spending time on yourself because you deserve it.
Take at least an hour to take care of yourself.
Tip 13: Create daily routines that you love.
Daily routines are an essential part of creating the life that you want to have!

Tip 14: Reflect on recent positives
Grab your favorite notebook and write down 5 positive things that have happened in the past month.
They can be major or more minor positive experience that has happened to you. Anything positive.
Taking this time to reflect on positives will remind you of positive aspects of your life and help pull your brain out of it’s rut. This is actually a great routine to do once a month or even once a week, especially if it brings you joy and helps you live a more fulfilled life.
Tip 15: Declutter your living areas

Tip 16: Make an effort to add value to others lives.
Interpersonal relationships are also a helpful part of being happier. Happiness can be added to your life by bring joy to the lives of others.
Have you ever brought a giant smile to a kids face by giving them a gift or telling a funny story? Did that make you feel truly happy? Probably!
So if you are making an effort to make others happy and add value to their lives you will also be adding more value to yours. Value that will in the long run help you become a happier person. So start by trying to do one small thing a day that brings additional value to someone else’s life. And gradually this will become an actual habit in your life.
Tip 17:
Write down your frustrations in life
And then let them go! Sometimes it is incredibly helpful for improving your mood to fully understand what pushed you into a bad mood to start with.
Grab a notebook and your favorite pen and start jotting down what you think might be holding you back from your mood improving. Once you really get it figured out what is hurting your mood it will give you a better idea of how to address them so that you can start really, truly improving your mood and helping you get past the frustrations to be happier.
Tip 18: Limit social media time to improve your mood
Monitoring and limiting your social media time can have a lot of mental health benefits that can help to significantly improve your mood.
Spending too much time on social media can really mess with your mood. Seeing everyone else’s highlight reel can really bring down your mood and make it difficult for the other ideas to be effective. Remember- social media is not an accurate representation of others lives.
Tip 19: Work on accepting when things go wrong or change.
So many people feel negative and stuck in a rut because they aren’t embracing their current life. If you are always thinking about something that changed that you don’t love or something that went wrong then you won’t feel genuinely happy.
Start making it a change in your life and immediate reaction that when you think a negative thought about something that didn’t go as plan to instead start listing positives regarding it! Work on training your mind to see the positive in all situations and to accept changes.
