Staying productive is something that you need to check in on regularly. And in order to do that best it’s necessary to know what to be checking in on. Which is what we will be discussing and going over today. Below is the weekly productivity checklist to follow so you can check in on your productivity through out the week. To maximize your productivity and ensure you have your most productive weeks!
Before we fully jump into this weekly productivity checklist it’s important to talk about the process of implementing this.
How to implement your productivity checklist:
Step 1: Put the list somewhere you will see often. This may be notes on your phone, a physical piece of paper on your office, hung up on the fridge, etc. Just make sure it’s somewhere that you will be regularly reminded to check up on it and therefore check on your productivity.
Step 2: Actually check off each item once you have completed it. Some items you may complete multiple times over the week and that is normal and okay! The key is to complete them all at least once. And this will get faster as the weeks go on and the items on the checklist will start to become second nature.
Step 3: Learn your processes. Each persons productivity path and strategies will be different. So while you are regularly checking your productivity checklist it’s important to take notes of what works well for you and what doesn’t.
Step 4: Re-evaluate as needed. Don’t be afraid to add or remove things depending on what is helping you stay productive.
Now that we have covered those steps let’s get into the weekly productivity checklist to follow!

The Weekly Productivity Checklist To Follow
Boost productivity by doing these things each week:
Item 1: Daily time logs.
The first thing you should do if you are struggling to have productive days is to start a time log.
A time log is just a list of what you do every hour or half hour. In order to be more productive you need to have a good idea of what you do with your time in the day.
That will give you a better starting place for creating more productive days.
Item 2: Follow your (hopefully productive) morning routine.
Next up is a super helpful day for making every single day productive- create an efficient and productive morning routine.
There is a lot behind this tip so if you don’t feel like your morning routine is efficient and productive then head over to this post here where I share 12 productive morning habits.
But this can really help to transform your productivity throughout the week so make sure to mark it off when you are doing it.
Item 3: Make a weekly to do list.
If you have been around here for a bit then you would know I absolutely swear by the importance of weekly to do lists. Definitely one of my most important tips for how to be more productive.
But in order to truly be productive you need to take it to the next level and make sure you are prioritizing your daily to do list. This isn’t hard though! Just go through after you make your to do list and number it. Start with 1 and work your way down in order of importance.
Item 4: Take strategic breaks.
Did you know that taking strategic breaks can actually make you more productive? It seems strange that a tip for how to be more productive would be to stop working but it actually does help improve productivity to rest your brain.
If you didn’t already know that then head over to this post here where I talk about how to take breaks to boost productivity.
Item 5: Automate a new task weekly.
Technology is your friend!
In any situation where you can use technology to help make tasks quicker, easier, and automated that is better.
For example, if you can create email response templates do that. If you can automate certain emails going to certain folders then do that! Automating tasks and using technology can really help you be more productive. This tip for how to be more productive can also help you waste less time in your day so it’s a win-win.
Item 6: Decrease phone distractions.
The next way to be more productive is to make sure you are being aware and cautious with your phone notifications.
If you really need to focus for an hour or so I recommend putting your phone on DND to really stop all notifications.
But in general I recommend going through your notifications settings in your phone and turning off any notifications that you don’t actually want.
Chances are you get lots of notifications. And chances are you don’t actually want to see most of them. But every time they ding on your phone they are distracting you. Which makes you less productive!
Item 7: Say no to something.
Saying yes to things that you don’t have the time or energy for. Or just are not a priority in your life right now is essential for being more productive and workings towards your dreams.
So make sure that you are working on saying no to those things that aren’t feeding into your most efficient and best self.
But there is a lot of information behind it! So if you find yourself struggling to say no to more tasks then check out this guide here.
Item 8: Use a planner.
Planners are one of if not the most helpful tool for getting and being more productive.
The planner I currently use and totally swear by is the Erin Condren life planner (get it here!).
For this checklist item I recommend checking it off when you have set up your planner for the week.
It truly helps me stay organized which makes me way more productive. So if you want to learn to have productive days then you definitely need to be using a planner!
Item 9: Wake up earlier.
Waking up earlier in the morning is one of the things that has totally transformed my days. I get so much more done each day and I feel more energized!
I have a whole post on how to start waking up earlier that you can read here.
For your morning caffeine to help you wake up earlier try combining your breakfast and caffeine in one swoop with Verb energy bars!
Item 10: Dress for success.
When you are lacking productivity and really need to get motivated making sure you feel your best is so important. And for so many of us dressing for success can really help you feel your best.
So if you are in casual clothes, pjs, or just not dressed for success then go make that change. It can really help you make your day more productive by almost tricking your mindset because it makes you feel your best. I love throwing on my favorite jeans and a nice top to make me get into the productivity mood.
