6 Things To Remind Yourself When Self Doubt Happens

How to get over self doubt:

1: Remind yourself of all you have accomplished.

Focusing on what you have accomplished is a great way to remind yourself that you are amazing and to help you overcome these feelings of self doubt.

By writing down an actual list it also helps you focus and remember that you have accomplished things as well. When you are just looking at other peoples lives you tend to forget about what you have also done!

So making a list of your achievements and accomplishments is a great way to improve your mindset and remember that you don’t need to focus on others. Just focus on yourself and what you have and what you will accomplish

2: Remind yourself not to compare yourself to others.

There are so many reasons to remind yourself of this when you are struggling with self doubt. But here are a few of them:

  • When you compare yourself to others you put a lot of time and energy into that instead of bettering your life.
  • When you start comparing your life to others you forget that you are only seeing parts of their life not all of it. Usually you don’t get to see or know about the negatives.
  • If you get sucked into comparison it can be easy to not see or ignore the challenges and effort they went through to achieve things! When you are on step 1 of a journey you can’t compare to someone else’s step 3.

3: Remind yourself of your inner thoughts through journaling.

Getting deep into your inner thoughts is a great way to figure out why you are struggling with self doubt.

And figuring out the root cause is essential for overcoming that self doubt!

Take today as a starting point and start to figure out what time of the day and how to incorporate daily journaling into your life.

Reflecting on your days are a great way to stay in touch with your true thoughts and emotions which is an important part of loving yourself- to know what you are genuinely feeling. Which is so important for your mental wellness!

4: Remind yourself not to take criticism to heart.

Often what brings on self doubt is the words or actions of others.

And when we take those criticisms too seriously we can spiral down into a deep level of self doubt.

But it is essential to not let others words impact how you view yourself and what you think about yourself! You are the only one that can determine how you feel about yourself and how you view yourself.

5: Remind yourself of all of the positives in your life.

I find the best way to remind yourself of the positivity in your life is to take the time to make a huge list of all the positives.

Start with today and write down and small thing that was a positive from today. Then move to this week, then this month, year, etc.

And make sure to focus on the little things as much as the big things. Because those little positive throughout the day can be one of the most powerful tools to help you get past self doubt.

6: Remind yourself that failure is necessary for the path to success.

Failure happens to everyone. It is a part of the path to becoming your best self and being more successful.

You need to embrace the lessons that you have learned when you failed at something. Those lessons are what will help you have the knowledge to succeed at your next attempts and make progress at becoming your most successful self.

So don’t let yourself fall into the trap of thinking that because you didn’t succeed at one thing that you are a failure. That will cause constant self doubt.

Instead, change your mindset to focusing on each of those as a lesson that will help you grow.
