The Mindset Changes You Need To Make To Be Confident

Confidence is a trait that we can learn and build. And there are a lot of tools and paths that you can take to build your confidence. One of those tools is to make small mindset changes. So today we are going to chat about the mindset changes you need to make to be confident!

Before we get into these mindset changes for helping you become confident I do want to chat about the importance of self confidence.

Why is having self confidence so important?

  • Self confidence helps you feel comfortable and confident going for your dreams.
  • People listen to you and respect you more if you are confident. You immediately send off vibes that you know what you are doing.
  • Feeling more confident helps you make decisions quicker and easier which also helps you avoid decision fatigue. It can also help you avoid burnout as well, both personal burnout and professional burnout.
  • Lastly, it also helps you feel generally better about yourself which is great for your mental health and mental wellness.

The Mindset Changes You Need To Make To Be Confident

Mindset shifts to become confident:

Change 1: Keep your goals in mind at all times

The first, and arguably most important, mindset shift of confident people is to always be focusing on your goals.

When you are focusing on your goals and plans you are not as easily distracted by unimportant things. Focusing on your goals only is an amazing confidence boost.

Confident people are always making conscious efforts to work towards their goals. This motivated mentality is a large part of why certain people come off as confident and motivated.

Note: if you don’t already have written down goals then make sure to work on that right away. For tips and tricks on writing every day goals then head over here!

Change 2: Think about your self talk

Evaluate how you are currently talking to yourself about yourself.

Are you speaking positively about yourself? If not then practice replacing each self talk thought with a positive thought. Positive self talk is a super important one of the ways to feel better about yourself and start boosting your confidence!

Change 3: Learn to understand your emotions

Knowing what you are truly thinking and feeling is an essential thing for growing as a person.

And its also essential for becoming a more confident person.

You need to really know your emotions and be able to trust your own feelings.

So work on listening to your emotions and try to figure out why you are experiencing them. This shift can be difficult at first but it is worth the benefits to your confidence and self growth.

Change 4: Don’t be afraid to share your strengths

Another great way to become your most confident self and improve yourself is to make an effort to share your strengths.

One way to do this is through volunteering. Making an effort to regularly volunteer is great and it is even better if you can find a way to volunteer using your strengths. For example, are you great at computer programming? Then you could volunteer at different organizations in your community to make or improve their websites. This is sharing your strengths and helping to improve your community.

Another way is to share your passions and strengths through social media, blogging, podcasting, etc. Sharing your knowledge is great for others and yourself. And it allows you to focus on your passions and strengths that maybe aren’t related to your career. Which is a fantastic way to grow as a person and become your most confident self.

Change 5: Embrace getting out of your comfort zone

This mindset choice is totally necessary for becoming a truly confident person, learning to embrace the idea of getting out of your comfort zone. And learning to appreciate those uncomfortable feelings when you are experiencing something outside of your comfort zone.

Getting out of your comfort zone means a lot more than just traveling to a new place (though travel is important, read about that below).

It means taking on new projects at work. You could start picking up a hobby you have always wanted to try. Or just trying new restaurants and coffee shops.

If you want more inspiration and tips for this I have a video here all about getting out of your comfort zone.

Change 6: Create and priories healthy relationships

This shift is incredibly important for creating a great life in the long run through confidence.

When you focus on working on your relationships to make them healthy when you are in your twenties it will not only help you have already existing healthy relationships but it will also teach you the skills you will need later in life.

The sooner you know what a healthy relationship (romantic, family, platonic, working, etc) the better.

I do want to note that I believe not all relationships can be healthy. There are people out there that are not capable of having healthy relationships with others. So part of this element of your personal growth journey will probably need to be learning how to exit those unhealthy relationships.
