This year has had a lot of ups and downs for all of us. Which can lead to higher levels of stress but so many of us are not taking the time to care for ourselves even with the increased stress. Even though it is so important to make time for self care. So today we are sharing this fall self care bucket list challenge!
Following a self care bucket list challenge is a great way to keep self care a top priority in your mind. And to help you make time into your schedule for self care! But before we get into this fall self care bucket list challenge I quickly want to cover some of the reasons self care is so important. In case you weren’t already convinced of the helpfulness of this challenge!
Why is Self Care so important?
- Self care helps improve your mental and emotional wellness.
- Helps you prioritize your physical wellness and physical well being.
- Assists with helping cultivate personal relationships if you put effort into taking care of yourself.
- Self care is important because it helps you learn more about yourself.
- It actually helps you be in a better mindset to be more productive. Self care helping productivity is an underappreciated benefit!
But now let’s get into this fall self care bucket list challenge so you can work on taking care of yourself this fall.

Fall Self Care Bucket List Challenge:
Take Care Of You This Fall!
1: Get fresh air every day– even if it is chilly outside it’s still so helpful to get a little fresh air everyday. Walk the dog in the afternoon or drink some hot coffee or cider outside! Remember fresh air is so important for taking care of yourself even if it’s cold outside.
2: Light a fall scented candle– this is so relaxing and makes your home smell like a brisk fall day. My favorite scent so far this fall is linked here.
3: Bake a fall treat– get some inspo from Pinterest or go with a classic you know you like and bake some fall treats like your favorite pumpkin bars! You can do this with your friends and family as well for group self care this autumn!
4: Complete a fall Instagram challenge– I have one here that you can follow! This is a great idea for boosting your confidence.
5: Decorate your home with fall decor– this is such a great bucket list item. It is so fun to spend some time decorating your home with cute fall decor and is a great way to get into the autumn spirit while doing something you enjoy.
6: Curl up and read a book– grab a favorite or start a new book but curling up under a comfy blanket and reading is a great self care idea for the fall time.
7: Daily Gratitude journal– this is great for helping you stay thankful and calm during the stressful holidays. You can get one here!
8: Binge watch Halloween movies– spending an evening binge watching feel good or scary halloween movies is probably my favorite autumn self care ideas! It is so fun and nostalgic.
9: Do a moisturizing face mask– skin gets dryer in the fall so doing a moisturizing face mask is great for self care and for your skin! Your skin will thank you.
10: Stay hydrated– set some water drinking goals for this fall self care essential. You will feel better mentally and physically if you stay hydrated during these dry months!
11: Buy yourself flowers– get an autumn themed bouquet from a florist or your grocery store. Bringing some life into your home in the fall is so important and helpful! Plus we all know that fall foliage and flower colors are some of the most gorgeous.
12: Do an at home manicure– grab your favorite fall nail polish color (think along the lines of a rust or terra-cotta) and spend an evening drinking some wine and doing an at home manicure. This can also be a group fall self care essential activity!
13: Drink hot apple cider– or go to Starbucks and grab one of their tasty fall drinks. If you haven’t tried their fall apple macchiato I highly recommend it but it’s definitely better hot than iced.
14: Try a new exercise– this is a physical wellness based self care idea that you can make really fun. Try a fun new type of exercise to add some excitement to your exercise routines this fall!
15: Write a love letter to yourself– you can read it in the future when you aren’t having a great day! Self care routine items that will help you in the future are some of my favorites.
16: Get a weighted blanket– I absolutely swear by this for self care. I use my weighted blanket every single night and it’s so great for helping with anxious feelings! Linking mine here if you want in on this great tool!
17: Volunteer- spread some joy and take care of others too during the holiday season and volunteer at your favorite local charity.
18: Unplug from your phone– Do a social media detox and live in the moment! Here is some tips for this- How To Unplug From Your Phone Every Day.
19: Light a fire in your fireplace– if you have one this is such a warm and comforting way to spend an evening relaxing and taking care of yourself. If you don’t have a fireplace then put up a YouTube video of one on the TV!
