The beginning of the year is a common but still helpful time to implement new healthy habits into your life. But knowing where to start can be overwhelming and scary. And these habits are a wonderful way to start making those healthy changes in your life. Which is why I am sharing these 22 healthy life habits to add to your life in 2022!
The key to making your life healthier is to take your healthy life journey one step at a time.
Try adding one new healthy habit to your life every few weeks. If you try doing 10 new things at once it can be overwhelming and lead to you giving up on your new healthy lifestyle. And remember to be patient with yourself! Becoming a healthier person will not happen overnight.
But if you start to slowly implement these helpful habits for a healthier life you can start to slowly and steadily become a healthier person. I find a health book tracker like this one to be really helpful for tracking and implementing these habits.

22 Healthy Life Habits To Add To Your Life In 2022
2022 Healthy Habits To Start Doing:
Habit 1: Get more sleep.
This is the first habit because it is one that is so often forgotten about in the quest to be healthier.
Get 6-8 hours of sleep a day. The exact amount will depend on your age! Do some research on how much sleep you should get for your age.
Habit 2: Try getting more steps.
Get 10,000 steps a day or more if you can. Try a fitness tracker watch to help you achieve this habit consistently!
Habit 3: Eat more fruit.
Specifically, try eating 3 servings of fruit every day. If you don’t like eating whole fruit try making smoothies.
Habit 4: Try adding yoga to your life.
Do at least 15 minutes of yoga when you wake up in the morning or right before bed. Whichever works the best for you!
Habit 5: Get daily fresh air.
Get 30 minutes a day of fresh air. Either walks outside or just sitting outside and drinking your morning coffee.
Habit 6: Pack your lunch for work.
Grabbing food or skipping lunch are both generally less healthy than packing your own lunch. Try getting a fun lunch box to make this habit a tiny bit more enjoyable!
Habit 7: Drink lots of water.
The general rule of thumb is to aim for 15.5 cups of water for men and 11.5 for women. But find what works the best for you and your lifestyle. The more active you are the more water you will definitely need to drink each day.
Habit 8: Spend less time on your phone.

Habit 9: Stick to a healthy morning routine.
Create a healthy and productive morning routine. And learn what it takes for you to stick to this routine to set yourself up for healthier days.
Habit 10: Improve your posture.
Work on maintaining /forming good posture. Try taking a video of yourself to see where you need to improve your posture! Then make it a habit to be aware of and work on improving your posture.
Habit 11: Take strategic breaks.
Start taking strategic breaks throughout your work day for your mental and physical health. This helps your mind and boosts productivity throughout the day as well.
Habit 12: Eat more vegetables.
Eat 3 servings of veggies a day. Try experimenting with veggies you don’t eat often or have never tried to keep up some variety in your life.
Habit 13: Workout regularly.
Make a plan to exercise 5 times a week. Create the plan for those workouts at the beginning of every week. And remember that the most important way to workout regularly is to really stick to what works for you not what someone tells you should work for you.
Habit 14: Say daily positive affirmations.
Start reciting positive affirmations every day. Try to spend 5 minutes doing this at the beginning and end of every day.

Habit 15: Stretch every night.
Stretch your body every night before going to bed. Even if it is just 5-15 minutes it can make a big difference to stretch every night.
Habit 16: Measure inches rather than the scale.
Measure weight/fitness progress by measuring inches and fitness goals not the scale. Scales can be inaccurate tools to measure your healthiness.
Habit 17: Wear sunscreen daily!
Sunscreen is so important for the health of your skin. Try getting a moisturizer with SPF in it to make this easier.
Habit 18: Cook more at home.
Learn to regularly cook healthy meals at home. Bonus this will help save you money as well.
Habit 19: Take daily vitamins.
Find the right vitamins for you and take them daily. Do some research or ask your doctor for advice.
Habit 20: Floss every night.
This is a habit we all know we should do but aren’t always the best at so make this a serious habit for this year. If you have a hard time trying to create this habit try getting floss picks.
Habit 21: Start meal prepping!
Not only does meal prepping help you keep on track with eating healthier but it also saves money and decreases food waste. Get some cute meal prepping containers like these to motivate you!

Doing the same workouts every week will not only get boring and hurt your motivation but your body also gets adjusted to those workouts so you should shake it up and work different muscles!
