It’s so crazy that warm weather is here but I’m not complaining! I love when the weather is nice enough for spending evenings and weekends on the patio. Which of course has meant that I am sprucing up my patio for the season. So I am excited to share these modern patio decor favorites for summer 2021!
Finding different places to buy patio furniture and decor was a real struggle for me last year. I wanted more unique and trendy items so this summer I committed to digging through different online stores to find the best places to buy patio decor online. And these are some of my favorite items I found and they are all modern and trendy!
I have broke this down into 4 main categories for easy discovering. Trendy patio furniture, modern patio decor accessories, plant/gardening favorites, and lastly the outdoor entertainment finds.

Antropologie: Alessi Mosaic Indoor/Outdoor Coffee Table
How cool is this table? These colors are completely on trend for summer 2021 and this table will look good on any patio.
Next is this fire pit that is amazing. I love that it is rectangular which makes it unique but it is still all black so it works with so many styles.
World Market: Cotton Rope Single Hammock With Stand
I had to share this for anyone who likes hammocks but doesn’t have two perfectly placed trees. AKA me! I love that you can put this up anywhere and it is so cute to make it even better.
Urban Outfitters: Terrazzo Ceramic Indoor/Outdoor Side Table
When I tell you my jaw dropped when I saw this outdoor side table I am not exaggerating. I love the Terrazzo trend and this side table does it perfectly!
Target: Metal Fabric Patio Garden Stool – Olivia & May
I love little stools like that for outdoor spaces. They are easy to move around and add extra seating without taking up too much space. And this one is such a unique modern design.
Target: 9′ Round Fringed Patio Umbrella DuraSeason Fabric™ Linen – Black Pole – Opalhouse™
This is probably the coolest and trendiest standing umbrella I have ever seen! This piece alone can totally transform a patio. I also love that it serves the sun blocking purpose without being a normal boring patio umbrella.
Crate & Barrel: Chapala Outdoor Teak Ottoman with Cushion
This has to be the most amazing outdoor ottoman I have seen yet. The shape, the colors, all of it is just incredible!
Modern Patio Decor Accessories
These are probably the coolest outdoor oil lamps I have ever seen. The round shape and neutral colors are totally trendy while still being functional.
I love refreshing welcome mats for different seasons and this one is so trendy and perfect for the summer.
World Market: Gray Sol Indoor Outdoor Throw Pillow
I have found that the easiest way to improve your patio is with some trendy outdoor pillows. And world market has a lot of great outdoor pillow options. This gray one is one of my favorites!
Target: Throw Pillow Arc Black/White – Project 62™
Target is another great place to check out for outdoor throw pillows. They have a huge variety for any style but this is my personal favorite one from their 2021 summer options.
Crate & Barrel: Grey Outdoor Pouf
Okay, this might be a furniture piece or decor depending on your thoughts but regardless it is so cute but also functional. I love that it can work as a seat, footrest, or just add some extra style to your patio.
Plant/Gardening Favorites
CB2: Cement Basket Planter Set
I am beyond obsessed with these planters. The woven look but with cement is so unique and completely on trend.
World Market: Black Pedestal Pescadero Outdoor Planter
These might be the coolest planters I have ever seen. The second I saw them I started brainstorming what plants would look the best in them. These can work on patios perfectly but I am thinking about putting them on the front porch because we have a black door and these would look perfect with them!
Urban Outfitters: Nix Wall Planter
This wall planter is awesome especially if you have a smaller patio, like an apartment patio! Or just in general it’s a great way to keep animals out of your plants. Plus it looks cool and is a fun modern patio decor favorite!
Target: Hexagonal Ceramic and Fiber Clay Planters with Stands – Olivia & May
If you can’t tell I am a big fan of planters on the patio! I think they are a simple and fun way to really add some personal and fun touches to your patio. Why not add even more cuteness to your plants!
Crate & Barrel: Eero Indoor/Outdoor Planters with Wood Stands
These are beyond trendy with the geometric shape of the stand but they are still functional and neutral. A total win-win for your patio this summer 2021.
Outdoor Entertainment Finds
Anthropologie: Scuba Glasses, Set of 2
I am so obsessed with these glasses. So cute for fun summer time cocktails on the patio.
World Market: Round White Galvanized Metal Serving Tray
Next is this serving tray that will be so wonderful this summer because it has a ton of uses. You can use it for serving food, drinks, or just generally anything you need to bring out to the patio.
Anthropologie: Selby Terrazzo Bamboo Melamine Chip & Dip
Next up is these super cute terrazzo chip and dip serving dishes. These are so perfect for any dip that you like to serve on the patio!
Urban Outfitters: Roma Taco Holder
This taco holder is so simple yet so wonderful and innovative! This is an amazing way to spruce out an outdoor taco night.
Crate & Barrel: Acrylic Drink Dispenser
I love that this drink dispenser isn’t boring while still being acrylic so it’s durable for using outside on your patio. Definitely one of my favorites I have found and I love having drink dispensers for lemonade and flavored water.
I hope that these items gave you ideas or potentially work as the items you want to use so you can make your dream patio! Remember your patio doesn’t need to be drab. You can get a couple modern patio decor pieces that add the right flare to make your patio perfect this year.
These are modern and trendy pieces but not too outlandish so that you can keep using them for years and years. I am a big supporter of getting pieces that you love but will also work for years. Though, we all know that outdoor items don’t always last as long so keep that in mind- the elements can be rough on outdoor pieces!
