Tip 1: Write down your life goals.
The first thing you need to do when you are trying to step out of your comfort zone is to think about what you want to accomplish and why.
The best way to do this is to write down all of your life goals and what you are wanting your life to look like. Once you start to think about this and visualize what you want your life to look like you can start to figure out the best ways to step out of your comfort zone.
Tip 2: Change up your routines.
Once you know what you want your life to look like by stepping out of your comfort zone then you can start to change your routines to account for this.
Switch up small things in your routine to allow for you to get out of your comfort zone.
Things like waking up earlier (here’s some tips on waking up earlier) so you can go for a run in a new park. Or trying different coffee shops in the morning. Little changes in your routines will help you step out of your comfort zone.
Tip 3: Do one small new thing every week.
The next thing you can do, which if you truly commit can be the most helpful, is to try one small (or large) new thing each week. This tip will really help you to get out of your comfort zone.
By setting and sticking to this goal of trying one new thing each week you will quickly find yourself getting more comfortable with leaving your comfort zone.
One of the best ways to actually stick to this tip is to make a bucket list of new things out of your comfort zone that you want to try. Then you can easily plan out what new things you want to do each week!
Tip 4: Meet new people.
Meeting new people is not only one of the best benefits of leaving your comfort zone but it also is one of the ways you can leave it more.
So basically it is a win-win!
By talking to people around you that you don’t know as well (like coworkers, classmates, neighbors, etc) you can expose yourself to more and more people that have experiences different than your own. Meeting new people is the best way to expand your mind and leave your comfort zone.
Tip 5: Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Leaving your comfort zone won’t be comfortable.
There will be times when you want to go running back to your comfort zone.
It will be uncomfortable and that’s okay. Just remind yourself of what you are doing and why you are doing it!
Sometimes you will need to slow down this journey and that’s okay too but keep trying. Remember that you are going to feel uncomfortable while growing as a person.
Tip 6: Remember that sometimes you will fail.
Another important tip to remember is that sometimes you will fail.
You will try things that are out of your comfort zone and you won’t succeed at them. And that’s honestly just as important.
Some of the most important lessons you will learn in life is from stepping out of your comfort zone and failing. And if you never stepped out of your comfort zone you would have never learned that lesson!

If you are overthinking every decision you won’t be as likely to make the decisions to step out of your comfort zone.
So work on making decisions quicker.
Go with your instincts and say yes more often. By doing this you will end up in situations more often that are out of your comfort zone.
This of course is slightly less applicable to important decisions. But low importance things that you may overthink will end in you saying no to new things. So be quicker to say yes and welcome things out of your comfort zone.
Tip 8: Keep track of all the new things you have tried.
The final tip for how to step out of your comfort zone is to keep a record of everything you are trying.
Just grab a notebook (this one is travel inspired and cute!) and jot down new things you have tried that are out of your comfort zone.
This is important so that you can look back at what you have done and use it to continue to motivate you to make this a life long journey.
