Routine idea: clean floors and surfaces
First is floors: If you have carpet, consider renting a carpet cleaner for a deep clean. For hard floors, use a cleaner suitable for the surface type (wood, tile, etc.).
Then it’s time for surfaces: Don’t forget to dust and clean less obvious surfaces like ceiling fans, baseboards and door frames too!! And then grab your preferred general cleaner and a reusable cleaning rag and get to wiping down your main surfaces like in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Routine idea: catch up on laundry
ugh the dreaded laundry conversation- bet you were hoping I wouldn’t bring it up 😉
But really if you want to reset your home and be ready for the upcoming week you will need to also catch up on laundry. And yeah I am saying catch up because are any of us really ever FULLY caught up on laundry?!
Routine idea: do one deep cleaning project
Starting your week with a deep cleaning project checked off your list is not only a WONDERFUL feeling but it also helps keep you from allowing all those deep cleaning projects to build up. Because we all know that it can get REALLY daunting when you suddenly realize you have a solid 10 days straight of deep cleaning to do. Do yourself a solid and do some every single week!

Routine idea: prep foods
I am leaving this a little vague on purpose because it’s going to really depend on your lifestyle- and that’s a great things 🙂 That means you can really get into prepping food that works exactly how it needs to for your life.
Let’s go over a couple of ideas for meal prepping:
- You can pre chop vegetables for the week. This is one I am personally a huge fan of because having pre cut onions, peppers, carrots etc. really helps me add more veggies casually into my meals. And as a couple who cooks a lot at home that really comes in handy!
- Meal prepping full meals! This is a commitment but for those. of you that it is relevant to it can be life changing to your routines!! If you are someone with extreme job schedules or academic commitments, if you are caring for a loved one, if you just have a lot on your plate right now you can minimize how much time you not only
- Prepping ingredients like bulk making a protein to use throughout the week or a sauce that you can use with a few recipes. Making dinner especially but any meal a little easier is going to make your weeks just go by a little smoother.
Routine idea: do a workout
Next up is there is something that really sets you up for a week focused on health and wellness by starting with a workout. Not sipping Sundays also allows you to take breaks on days that in my opinion are more worth not being sore for compared to Mondays!!
Routine idea: read!
Oh how I value reading for our mental health. Taking time to be removed from screens and the onset of news alone is good for us. But it’s also been proven to be so helpful for keeping our adult minds sharp as we age! Don’t forget to prioritize things for your brains health and your mental wellbeing.
Sunday reset routine ideas for your personal life:
Routine idea: connect with a loved one
A quick phone call, sending a text, asking if they want to enjoy some Sunday afternoon drinks on your patio etc. can go so far for building and cultivating even stronger relationships in your life. And it helps you focus on the things that matter in life and emotionally reset and recharge you for the rest of the week!
Routine idea: set your weekly goals
I so strongly believe in the benefits of weekly goals and how they can inspire and motivate us to stay on track and focused on our bigger, long term goals. That’s why I wanna quickly share my favorite weekly goal setting tips:
Tip 1: Do a timed brainstorming session
Set a time for how long you want to brainstorm. And don’t let yourself stop until that timer has stopped.
Turn your phone off (or put it on do not disturb if you are using it for the timer) so that you aren’t tempted to peak at it.
And really focus your energy for a set period minutes into brainstorming goal ideas and things you really want to accomplish. This gives you a great list to work off of to narrow down things, pick the time frame for each goal, and to help you think of actionable steps for your goals.
Tip 2: Keep your long term goals in mind.
A big part of why weekly goals are so important is that they are helpful for you achieving your long term goals.
So take a minute to think about some bigger, long term goals that you are wanting to make happen. And then think about any things you could do this week that would can help you make them happen.
Tip 3: Figure out your weekly time commitments.
It is so easy to think of all these incredible things you want to do with your life and really it is not hard to figure out what daily goals will help you get there. However, it is not realistic that you can do everything that you want to right away. You need to sit down and analyze what your days look like currently and what can fit into your life.
