St. Patricks Day Garland DIY: St Patty Celebrations!

How I made this cute st patty inspired garland:

Supplies needed for this St Patricks garland:

1: Pom-Pom garland – this is the one I used! But any with shades of green would be cute.

2: Green chiffon ribbon- these are the ribbons I used but again, any green ribbon would work but I love the wider look of these ones in particular the best.

3: Wooden shamrocks – linking the ones that I used but they are currently unavailable when I am writing this so check out this option or this one instead! You could also cut them out of green card stock instead and save some money.

4: Scissors – just to cut the ribbon.

5: Hooks to hang it with if you don’t want to use nails. These command hook ones supposedly don’t damage paint under!

Also, this is one that you can fold up and use year after year! So no need ever again to purchase a st patricks / spring / Irish garland again. Just keep it in storage and pull it out next year or really any lucky day 😉 So now let’s chat about the steps for making a shamrock garland.

Steps to make it:

Step 1: Attach the garland to the hooks or nails. It is much easier to create this when it is already handing on the wall or mantel.

Step 2: Adding the chiffon ribbons-

Next you are going to cut the chiffon ribbons into varying lengths.

I found it easiest to measure out a length and then hang it across the garland but not tie it- then take enough steps back to see the whole thing and envision what length pops against your backdrop the best. Less relevant if you are putting it on a blank wall of course! But good to keep in mind if you are hanging over a fireplace.

Step 3: Lastly use the twine that came with the wood shamrocks (or other ornaments of your choice) and tie them on the bottom with an alternating pattern!

And now watch it come to life here:

Now go make your st patricks garland and get ready for all the fun festivities!
