Before we get into the types though I do want us to chat quickly about the importance of daily affirmations!
Why doing daily affirmations are so important:
- They are a daily reminder that you are capable of what you put your mind to.Â
- Daily affirmations help you set the mood of your day and keep health as a priority in your days.
- They help you see the best version of yourself. You are already incredible and reminding yourself of that can really bring out your positive attributes.Â
- Daily affirmations motivate us to better our lives which as a result can boost confidence and happiness. Which is generally good for our overall health!
- They help us be at peace with our lives and decisions which can help us focus on prioritizing our wellbeing.

The 6 Types of Affirmations You Should Know About
Different types of self affirmations:
- Present Affirmations: Present affirmations are statements that affirm your current reality or desired state as if it’s already happening. By affirming your goals, aspirations, and attributes in the present tense, you’re programming your subconscious mind to align with your intentions and manifest them into reality. For example, “I am confident and capable” or “I am worthy of love and abundance.”
- Future Affirmations: Future affirmations focus on visualizing and affirming your desired outcomes or goals as if they have already been achieved. These affirmations help you stay focused on your vision and maintain a positive mindset, even in the face of obstacles or challenges. For instance, “I am attracting opportunities for success and prosperity” or “I am manifesting my dream job.”
- Action Affirmations: Action affirmations are statements that inspire and motivate you to take positive action towards your goals. These affirmations encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, overcome self-doubt, and embrace opportunities for growth and self-improvement. Examples include, “I am committed to taking consistent action towards my goals” or “I am embracing challenges as opportunities for growth.”
- Gratitude Affirmations: Gratitude affirmations focus on acknowledging and appreciating the blessings, abundance, and positive aspects of your life. By cultivating an attitude of gratitude, you shift your focus from scarcity to abundance, inviting more blessings and joy into your life. Examples include, “I am grateful for the abundance of love and support in my life” or “I am thankful for the opportunities for growth and learning.”
- Self-Love Affirmations: Self-love affirmations are statements that promote self-acceptance, self-worth, and self-compassion. These affirmations help you cultivate a positive relationship with yourself, recognize your inherent value and worth, and embrace your strengths and imperfections. Examples include, “I love and accept myself unconditionally” or “I am worthy of love and respect.”
- Affirmations for Healing and Release: These affirmations focus on letting go of negative beliefs, emotions, and past traumas that may be holding you back. By affirming your intention to heal and release what no longer serves you, you create space for growth, healing, and transformation. Examples include, “I release all fears and doubts that are holding me back” or “I forgive myself and others, and I am ready to move forward with love and compassion.”
Now before we are done chatting for the day about affirmations let’s also talk about how to incorporate affirmations into your daily routines!
By gradually adding them you will ensure that you are really focusing on each as you add them. That way you can make sure you are committing the mental energy necessary to help the affirmations positively impact your mindset.
Plus it can be overwhelming to start implementing a lot of affirmations at once. So start with 2-4 for the first month or so and then you can start adding more in as you go.
As for picking which affirmations to start with I recommend going through the whole list and picking the ones that stand out to you. The ones that really jump off the page and that resonate with you.
If need be close out of the page and think about which ones you remember. Chances are those are the affirmations that really stuck with you. So start with those to begin with.
I also recommend getting some cute sticky notes (like these) and put the affirmations you choose somewhere visible. Such as around your mirror or inside your closet door. The closet door is a great option if you live with others and don’t want your affirmations to be in a public area.
