Things To Ask Yourself During A Mid Week Check In

Ask yourself these questions in the middle of the week:

What progress have I made toward my goals so far this week?

Think about both your short term and long term goals- have you made progress? If not, what can you do the rest of the week to help you work towards those goals?

Also, any chance that you have to think about your goals and keep them front of mind is helpful for achieving those goals!

Am I effectively managing my time and staying productive?

The key to this question is to be completely, and fully honest with yourself about your time management so far this week and your actual productivity. If you keep daily to do lists these are great to look back on to see how you are doing/ what you are accomplishing this week.

Have I encountered any obstacles or challenges? How can I overcome them?

Encountering obstacles is a part of every humans weeks. But thinking about them and how you can best overcome them will put you ahead of most and set you up for success.

I want to note that of course some weeks the challenges will be much larger than others and that is okay and to be expected. Learning to roll with different challenges is so helpful for growing as a person who can handle more things.

Have I prioritized self-care and wellness?

Have you taken care of your mind, soul, and body this week? If you have then use that to keep you going. If you haven’t then think about and make a plan for doing more self care and wellness throughout the rest of the week.

Am I maintaining a healthy work-life balance?

This question it could be helpful to have family and/or friends weigh in on if you are struggling to know if your work life balance is healthy and working for you!

Have I communicated effectively with colleagues, friends, or family?

I personally find that this question is best answered by looking through my call logs and text messages- analyzing how you are currently communicating is essential for improving your communication skills. So use this mid week check in to help you determine your current communication levels and how they can be improved.

Am I staying true to my priorities and values?

Achieving the life you are dreaming of is only possible if you stay true to YOU!

So take this chance to think about your priorities and values and ensure that you are making small choices and changes each week to keep working towards those.

What tasks or projects do I need to focus on for the remainder of the week?

Re-evaluating your to do list is the most logistical and honestly essential step to your mid week check in!

Are there any tasks or commitments I need to delegate or reschedule?

By mid week you probably have a better idea of how much will be accomplished this week.

And that can also mean accepting that there are tings you are not going to get to- but that may need to be delegated to others or rescheduled to a later date. That isn’t failure! That means you are doing what you need to do!

Have I been mindful of my spending and financial goals?

Weekly (at minimum) financial check ins has been life changing for my financial goals and I really do recommend doing it as well. It doesn’t have to be a long check either- just updating any spending you have done in the week and checking in on your financial goals weekly can really help you keep yourself on track.

How am I feeling emotionally and mentally?

Emotional health should never be ignored! So check in on your mental wellbeing and adjust the rest of your week based on your current and updated emotional state.

Have I been staying organized and keeping my space clutter-free?

Glance around and also see if there is anything that really needs decluttered asap to keep your life as organized as possible.

What habits or routines have been serving me well? Which ones need adjusting?

Remember- not every thing needs adjusted! If a routine or part of your weeks is serving you well than there is no need to change anything! But don’t be afraid to make the changes if you need to.

Have I taken time to express gratitude and appreciate the positives in my life?
